It was recently announced thatNicole Kidman is set to star as famed comedic actress Lucille Ball in the forthcoming feature film The Ricardos, opposite Javier Bardem as her husband Desi Arnaz.

As soon as the announcement was made, there was pushback, with fans making it known via social media that they are not happy with the casting and a huge portion "voting" for Debra Messing to play the role. The casting seemed so polarizing, that it might be reverted (that's just us speculating).

But, that's not the case, with Lucie Arnaz, Ball and Arnaz's daughter, stepping in.

It seems she has a lot of her mother's spunk, with Arnaz posting a Facebook video, saying in a very sassy manner, "Stop arguing about who should play it – ‘she doesn’t look like her, her nose isn’t the same, she isn’t as funny," referring to the comments people are making.

She went on to address those who are throwing out their "vetoes," saying, "Just trust us. It’s going to be a nice film and p.s. the voting is over."

If anyone thought the jury was still out on this decision, it appears Arnaz has laid down the hammer.

On a lighter note, not so argumentative, Arnaz also talked about what to expect in the new film, explaining, "It's the story of Lucille Ball, my actual mother, not Lucy Ricardo. And her husband, Desi Arnaz, my dad. Not Ricky Ricardo. There will be humor in the film. But, it is the story of the two of them. And how they met. And... what went right, with finding the show. What went wrong. Their relationship. Their love affair."

She explains, it will have their TV series I Love Lucy in it, but very little of the movie is actually "I Love Lucy type stuff." Kidman will not be expected to reenact iconic scenes like Lucy being the spokesman for Vitameatavegamin.

Arnaz sounds confident in what's to come, you can hear her entire "speech" in the video below:

If you had any concerns, have they now been squashed?
