'The Marksman' Star Liam Neeson Debates His Future as Action Hero: 'I Think That Will Probably Be It'

No more Liam Neeson action movies? Say it isn't so!

Well, if it does happen, today is not the day. Neeson's new movie, The Marksman, comes out on January 21. He's doing the rounds, talking to the press about his latest project.

When asked by Entertainment Tonight about carrying on with action, he seemed a little deterred, saying, "I'm 68 and a half. 69 this year. There's a couple more I'm going to do this year — hopefully, COVID allowing us — there's a couple in the pipeline and, then I think that will probably be it. Well, unless I'm on a Zimmer frame or something,"

All right, so there is a chance that he will do more movies, with an aid...a Zimmer framer is another way of saying walker.

It's not that he doesn't enjoy the genre, saying, "I love doing 'em. I love beating up guys half my age."

He added a side note, talking about a recent experience: "I've just finished one in Australia and I had a fight scene with a kid — lovely, sweet actor called Taylor — and halfway through the fight I looked up, I was breathless and it didn't cost him a cent, and I said, 'Taylor, what age are you?' He said, '25.' I said, 'That's the age of my eldest son!'"

Advice is free for a reason, because everyone has it, but we would suggest Neeson to not compare himself to others. For all he knows, Taylor is entirely intimidated by this seasoned actor.

We sort of count on the predictability of Neeson as a shoot 'em up, save the day kind of guy. We even have an entire post dedicated to the sentiment, 10 Liam Neeson Action Roles We Can't Get Enough Of.

Until his decision is final, there's still more Neeson action movies on the way, with The Ice Road scheduled for later this year. And, he's yet to start filming on Memory and Charlie Johnson in the Flames.

If he keeps making 'em, will you keep watching?
