You may remember Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones as Ygritte. She’s signed on for a new project, set to star in Steven Moffat’s The Time Traveler’s Wife, a TV adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s 2003 novel.
The storyline follows a man (Theo James) who is diagnosed with a disorder that results in “his genetic clock being re-set.” He finds himself visiting impactful moments that have already happened or are still to come. His wife (Leslie) is aware of his ability and works around it.
In the new trailer, she describes what it’s like living with someone who pops in and out of her life:

We hear him say, “It’s not a superpower. It’s what’s wrong with me. I can’t keep hold of the current moment. I just slide off.”
That's one way to describe time travel. And, it sounds like he blames himself, even though this was inflicted on him. While it’s not his choice, he does his best to manage his abilities.
By the end of the clip, Leslie’s character laughingly says, “I married a time traveler. It’s complicated.”
Yes. Yes, it is.
Moffat has written about time-traveling before, acting as showrunner for Doctor Who (2009-2017). We trust he has a handle on the subject, as he's quite the expert.
The six-part series is heading to HBO Max in May.
