Millie Bobby Brown's Sherlock Holmes Spinoff Movie Has Found a HomeApril 22, 2020
Millie Bobby Brown's Sherlock Holmes spin-off movie, The Enola Holmes Mysteries, has been picked up by Netflix.
According to Deadline, the streaming service has acquired global rights (excluding China) to the feature film based on Nancy Springer's young adult detective novels.
The movie, which was shot in London last year, has a pretty incredible cast that includes Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Sam Claflin, and Torchwood's Burn Gorman.
Springer’s popular novels are based on the idea that Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes have a much younger sister, Enola, who is also an uncommonly capable detective. The film will follow Brown's Enola as she searches for her missing mother in Victorian London and uncovers a potentially history-changing political conspiracy along the way.
Fleabag's Harry Bradbeer is directing from a screenplay by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, National Treasure). Netflix has yet to announce when The Enola Holmes Mysteries will premiere, but given that it's already "in the can," hopefully we won't have too long to wait.
