'Line of Duty' Star Martin Compston Signs On for 'Our House' Miniseries

We've seen Martin Compston in six seasons of the crime series Line of Duty (2012-2021). He's been branching out a bit, recently starring in 2020's The Nest, about a married couple seeking a surrogate to help them start a family.

We can also look for him in the forthcoming miniseries Our House, reports Deadline. At first glance, the title makes it sound like a family drama, but it's anything but. Yes, it involves familial ties, but according to the synopsis, things take a dark turn fairly early on.

Based on Louise Candlish's 2018 novel by the same name, the four-part series, set in London, revolves around an estranged couple. Compston will play one of half of the couple, Bram, with Downton Abbey's Tuppence Middleston stepping in as his wife.

Middleston takes on the role of Fiona Lawson, who when arriving home, learns all of her possessions are gone. And, for that matter, her husband (Compston) is gone. It's not just that, a group of strangers are moving into their house.

We clearly are missing something, how can people just take over one's house?

It seems the story will rely on flashback scenes to help fill in the blanks, overlapping them with the present day.

The description helps tell a bit more, as well, saying, "With her (Fi) life shattered, she realizes the secrets and lies have only just begun."

Oh man, WHAT has Bram been up to? We are intrigued to find out. The four-part miniseries will premiere on ITV in the U.K. A U.S. broadcaster has yet to be announced.

In the meantime, both actors have shared their thoughts on what to expect, with Compston saying the scripts are “genuinely thrilling" and Middleton expounding, “What struck me about Our House is its immense relatability; it’s a story where you catch a glimpse of yourself in the characters, and you get the chilling realization that what happens to Fi could happen to anyone."

Is this going on your watch list?
