We just recently saw Emily Watson take the lead in AMC+'s three-part miniseries Too Close. And, it is quite the role, with her portraying a forensic psychologist, working with a troubled woman who drove her car into the river.

Watson has just signed on for a new project, starring opposite Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Suicide Squad) in the forthcoming movie Late In Summer, reports Deadline. 

It's not as troubling as her previous role in Too Close, but, it seems like trouble is amiss. Watson plays a married woman, living in Cornwall, England, during WWII. There, she meets a man (Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and the two have a brief romantic encounter.

The man is described as an American soldier and the two experience "first love," arriving later in life.

While their romantic entanglement may be short-lived, Watson's character is described as having to make "an impossible choice."

It's left up in the air, as to what she's deciding over.

Metro International is handling sales for the movie, with executive Natalie Brenner talking about what to expect, saying, "It’s a rare thing for any love story to reflect the sensuality of an older woman discovering the thrill of first love in middle age. In the hands of (writer-director) Talitha Stevenson, an exciting new talent with a supremely cinematic vision, supported by an outstanding production team and coupled with the luminous brilliance of Emily Watson and the charismatic intelligence of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, this promises to deliver a searing and profoundly moving love story for an often-underserved audience that we know the market craves."

"Luminous brilliance"? "Charistmatic intelligence"? This sounds like a powerhouse casting, teaming these two up together.

Talitha Stevenson is set to make her directorial debut, working off of a script she's written.

There's no word yet on a premiere date, but we will keep an eye out for an announcement.
