'Doctor Who' Actress Sophia Myles Reveals She Has Lost Her Father to Coronavirus
Doctor Who actress Sophia Myles has revealed that her father Peter Myles has lost his battle with Coronavirus.
Myles, who starred as Madame de Pompadour in the 2006 episode "The Girl in the Fireplace," posted the sad news on Twitter on Saturday, writing that "it was the Corona Virus (sic) that finally took him."
She had previously shared a photo of her father, a retired Church of England vicar, in his hospital bed with the caption: "This is the harsh reality of the Coronavirus."

Myles, also known for playing Rebecca Bishop on A Discovery of Witches, has been documenting her father's battle with COVID-19 on Twitter. In a video message posted shortly before his death, she thanked fans for their support at an incredibly difficult time.
"I just wanted to send a really short message to say thank you all so, so, so much for all your lovely, lovely tweets to me," she said. "I am sorry I am not able to reply to everyone in person but thank you. Every single one that comes through, I am so touched."
Luther's Idris Elba revealed last week that he had tested positive for Coronavirus, but reassured fans that he "feels OK." He's kept fans updated on his progress ever since, and seems to be in good spirits.
