Cheers! Phoebe Waller-Bridge Has Created Her Own 'Fleabag'-Themed Gin
Fleabag creator and Killing Eve executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge can add another section to her already very impressive résumé after lending her image to a bespoke gin.
The award-winning actress and writer has collaborated with Edinburgh Gin on a limited edition bottle which shows her Fleabag character mouthing the words: "I love you." Her co-star Andrew Scott has also contributed to the design by writing the words "it'll pass," which his "Hot Priest" character famously said to Fleabag in an especially emotional scene from the show.
You can get a glimpse of the design, which shows Waller-Bridge's Fleabag gazing longingly into the Edinburgh night sky, over on Instagram. "If that isn’t incentive enough to hunt one down and hold it against your cheek," Waller-Bridge says in the caption, "I don't know what is!"
In a press release, Edinburgh Gin said that 100% of profits from the limited edition bottle will go to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Waller-Bridge premiered her original Fleabag one-woman stage play at the festival in 2013, kickstarting a remarkable journey that ultimately saw it becoming an Emmy, Golden Globe, and BAFTA-winning TV phenomenon.
The profits from the gin bottle will be used to create subsidies for performers returning to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022 after Covid-19 made the 2020 event impossible.
