Casting News: Idris Elba Signs On for Feature Length Spy Thriller
Idris Elba is a regular on Anglophenia, having starred in the title role of the fan favorite series Luther. And, just for being a fantastic man.
Now we'll be getting an entire hour (or more) of him in a feature length film, which you can look for on Apple TV. Elba will be co-producing with Simon Kinberg, who has written a handful of the X-Men movies and 2007's Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
And, what is said movie called? There's no name yet.
And, what's it about? Umm, details on that are sparse, too.
But, we do know Elba is the lead (whew). And it's set in Africa. With Kinberg on board, the spy thriller will also incorporate some romance, described as being in the same vein as Mr. and Mrs. Smith, reports ComingSoon.net.
While Kinberg is a screenwriter, he won't be handling writing duties this time around, but instead, we can look for the words of Travon Free, who is best known for his work on the The Daily Show. He also wrote one episode of 2018's rom-com series Camping, starring David Tennant.
In more Elba news, he's already completed filming on 2020's Concrete Cowboy. And we can look for him in 2021's The Suicide Squad.
With that said, we'll leave you with this post from The Anglo Files: 8 of Idris Elba's Talents You May Not Know About.
Now the question is, who would you cast opposite Elba as the love interest?
