'Zombieland' is Getting a Sequel with Rosario Dawson Set to Join Original Cast

The original Zombieland premiered in 2009, starring Jesse Eisenberg,Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. All four of the cast members are set to return for the 2019 sequel Zombieland: Double Tap, premiering on October 11.

As well, Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage) has been added to the lineup. We can also look for other newbies to the franchise like Zoey Deutch (Why Him?) and Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse) also signing on, reports Deadline.

The first film was basically a road trip across the U.S. with the small group of survivors having to stave off the undead creatures coming at them.

The next film will also see the return of Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Deadpool). With the original cast, director and writers we can predict the next film will have the same zest, humor and... well, grossness as seen the first time around.

The storyline says the film will kick off in Washington D.C. at The White House and will carry out through the heartland of the U.S. It sounds like another road trip, but clearly they aren't just going to make the same movie again; there is a new breed of zombies that have manifested since we've seen this makeshift family last.
