Will Smith Gets a Blue Makeover in New 'Aladdin' Trailer... And the Internet Grows Cold

There is a lot going on in the new trailer for Guy Ritchie's live-action Aladdin — secret caves, hidden treasures and  potential romance — but the biggest standout is Will Smith as Genie.

While fans have been waiting for the big blue reveal, it appears Aladdin (Mena Massoud) has no idea who he is, as seen in the below clip (00:50):

Of course, Genie, in true fashion, does not hesitate to introduce himself. He is not shy.

Neither are moviegoers, who shared their reactions via Twitter. We should probably warn you, they're not great:

The first look of Smith as Genie was on the cover of Entertainment Weekly back in December. People were asking why he wasn't blue.

Smith reassured fans to "just wait."

We would like to include tweets from fans embracing the blueness, to show both sides, but positive reactions are few and far between (as in zero) at the time of this write-up.

Aladdin hits theaters on May 29.

Is there anyone out there who is liking this look??
