Where to Watch Amy Adams: From Fairy Tale Princess to Dark and Dangerous Tales
Amy Adams is a polished, versatile actress and has come a long way since her early days. We were first introduced to Adams as a young nurse, braces and all, in 2002's Catch Me If You Can, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. The scene of her jumping on him in his office for a passionate, yet messy "snog," is unforgettable.

Adams has been across a number of genres and as of this week, three new projects of her's keep popping up, including the feature length films The Woman in the Window, Nightbitch, and the recently announced Netflix miniseries Kings of America.
Let's take a peek at some of her earlier work:
1. Drop Dead Gorgeous

In 1999, Adams made her feature film debut, starring as a pageant contestant in Drop Dead Gorgeous, opposite Kirsten Dunst. While her character Leslie Miller might come across as a little vapid, she is genuine. And, Adams plays that cluelessness in such a delightful way, that we can't help but give her a break.
2. That '70s Show

In 2000, Adams swung by the set of That '70s Show. She joined the already established ensemble cast for a one-off appearance in the episode "Burning Down the House" as the most popular girl in school Kat Peterson. In the above clip, she talks about how nervous she was, but how welcoming the cast was to her.
3. Catch Me If You Can

As mentioned above, Adams starred in the 2002 biopic Catch Me If You Can. The movie tells the real life story of teen con artist Frank Abagnale, Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio). When Abagnale was impersonating a doctor, at an actual hospital, he met a young nurse, played by Adams. The two hit if off so well, they decided to marry.
4. Enchanted

Adams was a triple threat in 2007's Enchanted, singing, acting and dancing. She took on the role of an animated fairy tale princess who comes to life when landing in NYC. She brings all of her goodness with her, which is infectious, impacting the people around her. As well, her naivety makes her vulnerable to the big bad city.
5. Julie & Julia

In 2009, she starred in the biopic Julie and Julia, opposite Meryl Streep. Adams takes on the role of real life blogger Julie Powell, who challenged herself to cook a Julia Childs' recipe every day for a year. And, she did. Through Powell's story, we go back to the beginning of Childs (Streep) story and how she became a famed TV chef.
6. Leap Year

Remember when Adams went to Ireland to get engaged? Well, her character did in 2010's Leap Year. She heard of a tradition that if a woman proposes to a man (Adam Scott) on Leap Day, he must accept it. And as romantic comedies do, her plans change when she meets a charming driver (Matthew Goode).
7. American Hustle
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST7a1aK_lG0
Adams put on the best fake English accent in 2013's American Hustle. She doesn't use the posh manner of speech the entire time, but only when she's working over an unwitting politician, Mayor Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner). She's in cahoots with her married love interest and fellow con artist Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale).
8. Big Eyes

Another biopic, 2014's Big Eyes tells the story of artist Margaret Keane, played by Adams. Keane was a natural when it came to painting. But when her husband took credit for her work, things became problematic. She went along with it for a while, but became troubled. Troubled enough to fight back, for her work and for her name.
9. Nocturnal Animals

A lot of people confuse Amy Adams and fellow actress Isla Fisher. With that said, writer-director Tom Ford cast both women for Nocturnal Animals. Adams plays an art gallery owner, whose husband writes an alarming novel. Fisher plays the lead character in the novel, who is eerily similar to his wife (and gets dead).
10. Sharp Objects

In another dark tale, Adams stars as a wounded woman, having suffered through childhood abuse in the 2018 miniseries Sharp Objects. When obliged to return home, she faces her fears and her... mother (Patricia Clarkson). We go on a dark and twisted journey with her, to figure out what happened to land her in such a devastating place.
Bonus: We can look for Adams to reprise her role as Giselle in the sequel to Enchanted, called Disenchanted. The title doesn't sound all that promising. The story picks up ten years after the original film, which had a happy ending. But it seems this princess's shine has dimmed a bit. Life isn't what she expected and she questions her happiness.
Do you keep seeing Amy Adams pop up or is it just us!?
