There is no doubt you remember Hugo Weaving from The Matrix series, starring as Agent Smith. If you need a little bit of a reminder, he was the agent tracking Keanu Reeves’ Neo.

Twenty some years later, he’s now bearded up and starring in another sci-fi flick, entitled Expired, reports ComingSoon.net.
The name of the movie does not sound all that promising for those involved, with the word “expired” translating to us as dead/no longer. But we may be getting ahead of ourselves, with it being sci-fi and all.
Weaving is set to star as a man named Dr. Bergman, opposite Ryan Kwanten as Jack and Jillian Nguyen as April.
The story revolves around Jack, who is a hitman. But, when he meets a mysterious woman (Nguyen), things change for him. The storyline is pretty brief, so it’s not to say he gives up his killer ways, but from the newly released trailer, he is quite smitten with her. We see Dr. Bergman step in as an advisor.
We have a feeling that finding love will have an affect on him, whether it be helpful or a hindrance:

Based on the above, Expired refers to Jack having a deadly disease and a race against time. Dr. Bergman thinks love should be put to the side and Jack focus on survival.
But, according to Jack, he can’t stay away from her.
Is it just us, or does the trailer have a Matrix-y feel? It might be the sunglasses.
If not Matrix, maybe a little Blade Runner? It might be the grayish undertones of the future.
Whatever it is, we’re enjoying the first look, with the flying transport and neon lights of a doom and gloom city.
You can look for Expired on March 22.
Are you excited to see Hugo Weaving take on another sci-fi role?
