WATCH: Sienna Miller Plays Distraught Mother in 'American Woman' Trailer
Sienna Miller (The Lost City of Z) plays a mother whose teenage daughter has gone missing in the film American Woman. The tense drama screened at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival last night (September 9) at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
In the recently released clip, the 32-year-old mom (Deb), tearfully describes her daughter and what she was wearing when last seen:
Deb is holding a small child in the clip, who is actually her grandson, her daughter's baby. The three of them were living together until her daughter went out one night and didn't return.
The story covers 11 years, with Deb raising her grandson. There's no hint as to what happened and just as Deb starts to accept the loss and move on, new information about the disappearance starts to come out.
There's not a ton out about this missing person movie, but we really want to know what happened. In the meantime, here's Miller talking to Entertainment Tonight about how she kept things light in between scenes:

American Woman is directed by Jake Scott (Welcome to the Rileys). In addition to Miller, we can also look for Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men).
The movie premiered at TIFF, with a wider release yet to be announced.
You can also look for Miller in 2017's The Private Life of a Modern Woman, opposite Alec Baldwin. She is currently filming Wander Darkly, with Diego Luna, about the aftermath of a devastating car crash.
