WATCH: Sandra Oh Shows Off Physical Comedy Skills in 'The Chair' Trailer
Killing Eve fans will know that Sandra Oh is a true queen of physical comedy, and she gets to show off her knack for slapstick in the first trailer for The Chair.
Oh stars in the upcoming Netflix comedy-drama series as Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim, the new chair of the English department at the fictional Pembroke University. It follows the various challenges she faces as the first woman – and first person of color – to land the prestigious job.
A mock newspaper article teasing the series says of Kim's appointment: "Some may say 179 years is too late, but we say it’s better late than never! And we know ‘never’ certainly was a possibility."
The trailer shows Oh's character arriving in her fancy-looking office, where she is greeted by a rather inappropriate nameplate and has a little trouble getting comfy in her chair. Check it out below.
Oh also serves as an executive producer on the series, which counts Togetherness actor Amanda Peet as its writer, executive producer and showrunner, reports Deadline.
Game of Thrones creators David Benioff – Peet's husband – and D.B. Weiss also serve as executive producers on the series, which is due to premiere August 20. The supporting cast includes Jay Duplass, Holland Taylor, Nana Mensah, Bob Balaban, David Morse, and Everly Carganilla.
Oh is currently shooting the fourth and final season of Killing Eve, which is due in 2022. You can catch-up with the first three seasons here.
