WATCH: Ryan Reynolds Stars in Action-Adventure '6 Underground' Trailer

Director Michael Bay's forthcoming film 6 Underground revolves around six individuals who have faked their own deaths. Why? They've created a vigilante group to combat criminals, according to IMDB.

In the just released trailer (October 1), Reynolds' character, who is listed as "One," asks, "What if I told you, I know what happens when you die. You become a ghost. The best part of being dead... is the freedom."

That's one way to look at it. But, this is no supernatural thriller, instead action-adventure, and the characters are very much alive:

It does make us wonder, if they are deemed dead, where are they getting their funds? We suppose they made plans for that. The cars and gadgets they rely on to fight crime do look pricey.

There are some seriously comical moments, like at the end of the clip where One says, "I wasn't sure it'd work. I mean, I had a suspicion. This is just so f'n dangerous." That's an understatement.

Details on the storyline are limited, but we are keen to learn how this group obtained their special ops-like skills. Being "invisible" doesn't necessarily translate into handling weaponry like... oh, you know, grenades.

Reynolds is joined by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, Corey Hawkins, Ben Hardy, Lior Raz, Mélanie LaurentPayman Maadi and Dave Franco.

You can look for 6 Underground streaming on Netflix on December 1.
