Luther star Ruth Wilson has signed on for a new project. You can look for her in the forthcoming feature film True Things, reports Empire Online.
A first look trailer has released, and it starts off very sexy. We see Wilson’s character, Kate, sighing deeply, moaning and rolling around undressed in the dirt and leaves.   
She seems to be enjoying some sort of erotic escapade, but when hearing a voice saying her name, she’s snapped back into reality. It turns out, she’s at work and simply daydreaming.
But, that’s about to change, with her wishful thinking becoming her new reality.
Kate works as a claims processor, and when a client (Tom Burke) asks her to lunch, her listlessness is replaced with lust:   

The two seem to hit it off quickly, but things go south just as quickly.
We hear Kate say to him, “You just disappeared,” followed by her mother putting the blame on Kate, saying, “I don’t know what’s wrong with you. I think men find you difficult.”
Well, that’s hurtful and not necessarily helpful, but her mum thinks she needs to hear it.
The thing is, we don’t know if this is a pattern for Kate, as there are some holes in her backstory.
But, hopefully seeing True Things in its entirety will fill in the blanks.
We’re so used to seeing Wilson as Luther’s Alice, who is so in control.  
This is definitely a change-up in her on-screen presence.  
True Things is set to premiere in the U.K. on April 1, with a U.S. release date still to come.
