WATCH: Miranda Hart Convinces Prince William to "Gallop" Like a Horse
We all know Miranda Hart likes a good gallop, and last night (December 19) the U.K. watched as she persuaded their future king to show off his equestrian skills.
Prince William was attending the Royal Variety Performance, an annual fundraising stage show featuring British talent that's televised every Christmas.
He and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge were tucked safely away in the Royal Box of the London Palladium theatre, chuckling along to the on-stage antics of Miranda, who was the host of this year's show.
Those included recreating a typically "posh" party on stage, where guests were encouraged to exclaim, "Such fun!" — one of Miranda's most memorable catchphrases, uttered most often by her on-screen mother Penny (Patricia Hodge). Not content with getting the civilian audience shout it out, Miranda then turned to the Royal Box and asked the most famous audience member to join in.
Wills duly obliged, shouting the catchphrase from his seat. But that wasn't enough for our Miranda. After a performance by the cast of Annie, which she recently starred in as Miss Hannigan on the West End, she insisted he try out one of her signature moves.
Needless to say, the second-in-line to the British throne (not to mention a keen polo player) was a terribly good sport about it:
