WATCH: Mila Kunis Reluctantly Joins the Spy Game in 'The Spy Who Dumped Me'

The Spy Who Dumped Me (August 3) is a hot mix of espionage, action and, of course, comedy, with funny women Mila Kunis (Bad Moms) and Kate McKinnon (Ghostbusters) in the leads.

There's also romance. Or, to be more accurate, the end of a romance. The story kicks off with a breakup. Kunis plays a young woman by the name of Audrey and, in the first look clip for the new film, she learns her ex-boyfriend Drew (Justin Theroux) is in fact a CIA agent.

That really shouldn't have much to do with her, but in the new trailer, Drew says to Audrey, "Some bad people are after me. And now they're after you." Running into an ex and having an unexpected post-breakup chat is never fun, but this is a worst-case exchange. The pair are huddled under a table, seeking cover from a hailstorm of bullets.

And, like in most spy stories, the protagonist has a foil. This time around it's Saturday Night Live all-star Kate McKinnon who provides Audrey with much-needed backup.

So now, the two women need to run — and fight — for their own lives, only they don't really know what they're doing. But as the trailer unfolds, their instincts seem to kick in, and they find themselves pulling off proper spy moves, like swallowing a flash drive, handling guns, and donning clever disguises:

Audrey may need some work on discretion, though. It's probably not the best idea to run down the street exclaiming, "Oh my god, I killed someone! I killed someone!" At least she has Morgan (McKinnon) to politely remind her to keep it down.

The Spy Who Dumped Me is in theaters on August 3.

These aren't the first women in film to take up spying. Check out this recent Anglo post 10 Female Spies Who Could Show Bond How It's Done.

AND... you can look forward to BBC America's original series, Killing Eve, which premieres April 8. The eight-part series features two female leads (played by Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer) from the world of espionage.
