WATCH: Kate Winslet, Saoirse Ronan and Fiona Shaw in First Trailer for Romantic Film 'Ammonite'

The first trailer for Ammonite, the upcoming romantic drama film starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan, has been released, and it's a beauty.

Killing Eve favorite Fiona Shaw has a supporting role in the film – which is written and directed by Francis Lee, who previously made 2017's acclaimed indie film God's Own Country – and also appears in the trailer.

Winslet stars as Mary Anning, a self-taught paleontologist who lives and works in Lyme Regis on England's South Coast during the first half of the 19th century. Ronan plays Charlotte Murchison, a geologist who comes to work with Anning – who was under-appreciated in her lifetime, but has since been named one of the most important British women in science history – and becomes her friend and lover.

Director Lee has called it a "film about intimacy, love, and hope." The cast also includes Gemma Jones and Alec Secăreanu, who previously appeared in God's Own Country, the story of a gay romance that unfolds in rural northern England.
