WATCH: Jamie Foxx Teams Up with Taron Egerton in New 'Robin Hood' Trailer

In the just released (July 18) trailer for 2018's Robin Hood, we hear, "There's been whispers... of a thief!" It may not be clear to the Sheriff of Nottingham (Ben Mendelsohn) or the townspeople at this point, but we, of course, already know who's stealing from the rich to give to the poor in the retelling of this classic tale.

The latest incarnation of the world-famous outlaw is played by Kingsman star Taron Egerton. He's joined by Jamie Foxx, who portrays Little John, one of his loyal Merry Men.

In the newly released footage of the movie, we see Little John training Robin, saying, "You were a lord, but now you get to be a thief."

And Little John is going to show him how:

Fortunately, the former nobleman is open to the proposed career switch. He's even a little frustrated with the coaching, moaning, "When do I actually get to, you know, steal?"

Hang in there, Robin. It won't be long before you're robbing the rich and baiting the Sheriff with questions like this: "Who do you think the thief is?" The Sheriff blindingly trusts this man, who he believes to be a member of the court, and replies with an unwitting compliment: "Clearly he is well trained. Adaptable under fire."

Hmm. The Sheriff may come to regret letting this slip...

We can also look for The Fall's Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlet, Robin's half-brother, while Eve Hewson (The Knick) will play Robin's love interest, Maid Marian.

Robin Hood is directed by Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders), with Leonardo DiCaprio acting as producer.

The film opens in theaters on November 21.

What do you think of this pairing?
