WATCH: Ian McShane and Timothy Olyphant Return in 'Deadwood: The Movie' Trailer

Deadwood fans have waited nearly 13 years to reconnect with Ian McShane's Al Swearengen and Timothy Olyphant's Seth Bullock, but they're both back in the first trailer for Deadwood: The Movie.

The two-minute teaser also features the return of Molly Parker's Alma Ellsworth and Gerald McRaney's George Hearst, plus the show's familiar salty language, so it's probably best not to watch it in a busy office unless you have earphones!

Deadwood: The Movie takes place in 1889 – 10 years after the end of the TV show. HBO's official synopsis teases: "In the Deadwood film, the indelible characters of the series are reunited after 10 years to celebrate South Dakota’s statehood. Former rivalries are reignited, alliances are tested and old wounds are reopened, as all are left to navigate the inevitable changes that modernity and time have wrought."

Creator David Milch has written the film's script, while Daniel Minahan, who directed a handful of Deadwood episodes during the show’s original run, helms the two-hour movie.

“It was an amazing experience because everyone came back for it,” McShane told The Independent last month. “It felt almost like an out-of-body experience. But it was bittersweet because you knew it was a one-off, and you wouldn’t be here again. It’s set 10 years on. [Al Swearengen] is a little diminished."

Deadwood originally ran on HBO between 2004 and 2006, earning plenty of critical acclaim and a Golden Globe award for McShane, before surprisingly being canceled by the network.

Deadwood: The Movie premieres May 31 on HBO.
