Director Guillermo Del Toro is having a go at animation for the first time, with his remake of Pinnochio.
Ewan McGregor has signed on to help with the retelling of this story, lending his voice to Sebastian J. Cricket.
You may be familiar with the classic fairy tale, which is about a puppet made of wood who dreams of being a “real boy.”
But, in the newly released trailer, we hear Sebastian explain why this time it's different, “I want to tell you a story. It’s a story you may think you know, but… you don’t. Not really. You see, I, Sebastian J. Cricket, was there. As a matter of fact, I lived – actually lived – in the heart of the wooden boy.”

We do wonder, what does Sebastian know that we don’t know from the original story?
Tell us more, Sebastian!
We shall have to wait and see, with the movie coming out December 2022.
But, we have a sneaky feeling that there are more clips to come before then, which has us craving a peek at Pinocchio himself, voiced by Gregory Mann.
In addition to McGregor and Mann, the cast is rounded out by Tilda Swinton, Christopher Waltz, Cate Blanchett, Finn Wolfhard, David Bradley and John Turturro.
In the meantime, we’ll leave you with this, a trailer for Del Toro’s latest achievement:

Are you okay with some changes to Pinnochio's story?
