Colin Firth (The King's Speech) is set to star in the 2019 biopic The Command, originally titled Kursk (a Russian city).

Based on Robert Moore's 2002 book A Time to Die, the film details the tragic moment in 2000, when a Russian submarine sank to the bottom of the ocean, following an unexpected explosion during a torpedo loading training session.

Firth takes on the role of Commodore David Russell, an officer of the Royal Navy, who offered his help in saving the trapped soldiers, saying, "We have the equipment to bring those men to the surface." The film reveals what happened and what didn't happen... based on a follow-up investigation, it's believed the Russian government was negligent in delayed rescue efforts.
