WATCH: Cillian Murphy Joins Emily Blunt in First Trailer for 'A Quiet Place Part II'

If you're in the mood to be spooked, you're in luck, because the first trailer for A Quiet Place Part II has arrived.

The trailer gives us our first glimpse of a new character played by Peaky Blinders' Cillian Murphy, who co-stars opposite Emily Blunt in the horror sequel. Directed once again by John Krasinski, Blunt's real-life husband, A Quiet Place Part II returns us to an eerily silent post-apocalyptic world where malicious aliens hunt humans using their highly developed sense of hearing.

Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds also return as the children of Blunt's character, Evelyn Abbott, and Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond) is another new addition to the cast. Paramount's official synopsis for the sequel teases: “Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”

When it hits theaters on March 20, A Quiet Place Part II will arrive on a greater wave of expectation than the original movie, which became a major sleeper hit in 2018. Made on a relatively meager $20 million budget, it went on to gross more than $340 million worldwide.

Blunt later won a Screen Actors Guild award for her performance, and thanked Krasinski memorably in her acceptance speech, saying: "Thank you for giving me the part – you would have been in major trouble if you hadn’t, you didn’t really have an option, but thank you."
