WATCH: Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon Clash in Trailer for Julian Fellowes' 'The Gilded Age' Series

Are you in the mood for some old-school luxury? Because you'll certainly find it in the trailer for The Gilded Age, the new series from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.
Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon star in the historical drama series set during a famously prosperous period in late 19th century New York City. Baranski plays wealthy socialite Agnes van Rhijn, a great believer in the value of "old money."
In the trailer, we see her less affluent sister Ada Brook (Nixon) suggesting that times may be changing somewhat, something Agnes is evidently unimpressed by.
The series' stacked ensemble cast also includes Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, Carrie Coon, Simon Jones, and Morgan Spector. It's set to premiere on HBO on January 24, 2022.
The network's press release teases: "The Gilded Age begins in 1882 with young Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) moving from rural Pennsylvania to New York City after the death of her father to live with her thoroughly old money aunts Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook.
"Accompanied by Peggy Scott (Denée Benton), an aspiring writer seeking a fresh start, Marian inadvertently becomes enmeshed in a social war between one of her aunts, a scion of the old money set, and her stupendously rich neighbors, a ruthless railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife, George (Spector) and Bertha Russell (Coon)."
