WATCH: Benedict Cumberbatch Meets Tennis Champ Andy Murray

The tennis championships at Wimbledon are as much an opportunity for celebrity spotting as a key fixture in the annual sporting calendar, and this year's was no exception.

On Saturday (July 9) Beyoncé and hubby Jay Z were in the crowd watching the U.S.'s Serena Williams overcome Germany's Angelique Kerber in the final of the Ladies' Singles (or, as Queen Bey might put it, "all the ladies' singles!").

Also spotted during the championships were Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams, Preacher's Dominic Cooper, Grace Jones, Dame Maggie Smith, Stanley Tucci, Poldark's Aidan Turner, One Direction-er Niall Horan, Ronnie Wood, Anna Wintour, Rebel Wilson, Sam Smith, and David Beckham (who took his mum. Aw.).

Though it fell to Bey to speak for all of us when she was a little slow to realize that Serena had actually won:

...we so knew that was match point. We totally did.

On the following day (July 10) it was the men's turn, and the match between Britain's Andy Murray and Canada's Milos Raonic drew A-listers such as Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk, Hugh Grant, Alicia Vikander, Freida Pinto, Sienna Miller, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, and one Benedict Cumberbatch, who was such a fan he got to meet the winner after the match.

He and wife Sophie Hunter lined up alongside tennis club members to offer their congratulations as second-time men's champion Andy Murray left the court.

It turned out the tennis star was as much a fan of Benedict as he was of him. After a three-hour match, interviews, and a prize ceremony, there was one thing he wanted to know—the same thing the rest of us want to know: what's going on with Sherlock?

We're not sure who's more starstruck, Benedict or Andy. The two new dads then had a brief chat about being new parents, before Murray went on his way with his exclusive.
