Director Catherine Hardwicke knows her way around a teen vampire drama, helming 2008's Twilight starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as star-crossed lovers.

Hardwicke (Miss Bala) is making her return to the supernatural genre, adapting the 1987 horror-comedy movie The Lost Boys for TV, reports Deadline. Not just supernatural in general, the story follows young vampires once again.

It appears the original storyline will stay intact, with the series revolving around two brothers moving to Santa Carla, CA with their mother, in search of a fresh start. The mom brings her boys back to her hometown reluctantly... but, regret is the least of her worries, as the sunny Cali town is now overrun with the undead.

Casting has begun with Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf) confirmed to play the elder brother and Kiele Sanchez (Lost) to play the mother. These roles were originally portrayed by Jason Patrick and Dianne Wiest, respectively. The role of the younger brother, originally played by the late Corey Haim, has yet to be filled.

David, the leader of the vampires, will be played by Dakota Shapiro (Valley of the Boom). Medalion Rahimi (Still Star-Crossed) will take on the role of his not-so-loyal girlfriend Stella, who hasn't turned full vampire just yet.

The actors may be new to your watch list, but we definitely know this story and greatly enjoyed it back in the '80s on the big screen.
