Tom Hiddleston to Star as Explorer Henry Worsley in Limited Series 'The White Darkness'

Tom Hiddleston has booked his next big role. He's set to star in a limited series about British explorer Henry Worsley.
Apple TV+ announced Thursday that Hiddleston will executive produce and star in The White Darkness, a series based on David Grann's book of the same name. Published in 2018, Grann's nonfiction book tells the life story of Worsley, a former British Army officer who became obsessed with exploring the Antarctic.
Mark Heyman (Black Swan) and Soo Hugh (Pachinko) will serve as showrunners on the series, which is described by Apple TV+ as a "story of courage, love, family, and the extremes of human capacity."
Hiddleston's previous TV roles include AMC's adaptation of John le Carré's The Night Manager, for which he won a Golden Globe award:

We can look for him next in another Apple TV+ series, The Essex Serpent, which premieres on May 13. He's set to star opposite Claire Danes as a London widow who moves to the neighboring county of Essex to investigate reported sightings of a mythical serpent. There, she bonds with the local vicar, who is played by Hiddleston.
