We've been talking about Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki for a while now. We're not just getting more of Loki as a supporting character in a Marvel movie, but the god of mischief is getting his very own TV series, called Loki, which you can look for over at Disney+. 

Now, Hiddleston himself is talking about the character, and he's answering some of the questions we've had bouncing around, like, is Loki a good guy, a bad guy, or possibly... both!?

He sat down with Empire Magazine to go over the different sides of the superbeing, saying, "Loki is the quintessential shapeshifter. His mercurial nature is that you don’t know whether, across the MCU, he’s a hero or a villain or an anti-hero. You don’t know whether you can trust him. He literally and physically changes shape into an Asgardian guard, or into Captain America repeatedly. Thor talks about how he could change into a snake."

Exactly! One day Loki is filled with nothing but pure resentment and the next day he will swoop in to save the day. It seems even Loki can't make up his mind.

Hiddleston may not give us a concrete answer, but he provides a hint and where to look for more answers about Loki's motives, saying, "I think that shapeshifting logo might give you an idea that Loki, the show, is about identity, and about integrating the disparate fragments of the many selves that he can be, and perhaps the many selves that we are." The multi-faceted actor ends on this: "I thought it was very exciting because I’ve always found Loki a very complex construct. Who is this character who can wear so many masks, and changes shape, and seems to change his external feeling on a sixpence?"

Even when Loki is bad, we find ourselves cheering for him.
