7 Times Tom Hiddleston Floored Us with His Charm and Sense of Humor

Tom Hiddleston returns this week in The Essex Serpent, a new Apple TV+ series about a Victorian woman (Claire Danes) who moves to the English county of Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. Hiddleston plays the local pastor, a man she forms an unexpected bond with. To get ready for the new series, we're taking a look back at seven times T-Hidz was either charming, hilarious, or a bit of both.
1. The time he answered a tricky question in a very classy way.
The BBC and AMC's adaptation of John le Carré's The Night Manager was a huge hit in 2016; Hiddleston even won a Golden Globe award for his performance as hotel manager-turned-secret agent Jonathan Pine. So, you can't blame Graham Norton for asking whether there might be a follow-up series, or Hiddleston for elegantly explaining why this might be rather challenging.

2. The time he showed off some killer moves.
During his appearance at Tokyo Comic Con in 2018, Hiddleston was asked to show off his dance skills and didn't shirk the challenge. We especially love the way he really goes for it without messing up his crisp fitted suit.

3. The time he showed off his flair for accents.
In this cute video for GQ, Hiddleston pivots from a Newcastle accent to a "general American" one, then goes from Irish to Edinburgh to London football fan to camp Cockney. The way he says "pain au chocolat" in the Cockney accent is absolutely priceless.

4. The time he sang a Daft Punk song.
When an interviewer asked Hiddleston to join her for an impromptu rendition of "Get Lucky" – sorry, "Get Loki" – he obviously said yes. In fact, Hiddleston is so committed to making their duet a success that he checks the song's lyrics first. What a gentleman.

5. The time he did a brilliant impression of Owen Wilson.
Specifically, Owen Wilson as Loki. It's fair to say that Hiddleston definitely has a gift for mimicry.

6. The time he turned weather forecaster.
When Hiddleston appeared on BBC America's Top Gear, the weather was bad: so bad that the wind actually broke his umbrella. The actor sees the funny side, though, even delivering a playful weather update while he's careening around the course.

7. The time he reacted to some slightly suggestive fan art.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Hiddleston is shown fan art that imagines his Marvel character Loki as a pole dancer. It's a classic Graham Norton move, right? Hiddleston takes it all in stride, as always, with just the merest hint of a blush.
