The 'Miranda' Cast are Reuniting for a 10-Year Anniversary Special
This is not a drill: the Miranda cast are getting back together for a one-off special!
Titled Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration, the hour-long reunion show will be taped at the iconic London Palladium to mark the 10-year anniversary of the beloved sitcom, which debuted in November 2009.
The show's star-creator Miranda Hart said in a press statement: "What happened with my sitcom and comedy alter-ego over the last 10 years has been unexpected to say the least, so it’s very moving for me to have the chance to celebrate and thank my cast and the fans from The Palladium stage. We are hoping to put together a what I call such fun hour of television for them all."
The press statement doesn't mention any of Hart's co-stars by name, but actors Sally Phillips (Tilly), Tom Ellis (Gary), Sarah Hadland (Stevie), and Patricia Hodge (Penny) are all pictured, so it seems reasonably safe to presume they'll be involved. According to the BBC, the special will "feature a host of treats and surprises as the cast reunite to look back over a decade of such fun, friendship [and] romance."
The reunion special will air on BBC One in the U.K. later this year, though there's no word yet on when and when it might air in the U.S. But, surely it would be "such fun" for the special to find a U.S. home pretty soon!
Miranda originally ran for 20 episodes between 2009 and 2015. Last month it was announced that The Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik is to star in Carla, a new sitcom based on Miranda, but with some key tweaks.
Ahead of the reunion, why not whet your appetite by watching the sitcom's star being her usual hilarious self on The Graham Norton Show?
