'Taboo' Creator Steven Knight Has a Plan for Season Two... and Possibly a Third
Last year, Taboo creator Steven Knight confirmed we can expect a second season of the intense period drama starring Tom Hardy, who is set to reprise his role as explorer James Delaney.
You may be pleasantly surprised to hear, Knight is currently finishing the script for season two, and he may have enough material for a three-season arc, reports RadioTimes. If all goes as planned, production will begin at the end of 2019, or early 2020.
And, what exactly is said plan? Knight maps it out for us, saying to Collider, "If we all stick with it and we all want to keep doing it, it would be three [seasons]. That’s my plan."
Ah, OK, good plan.
He doesn't stop there, going on to provide details on where the story is headed: “I’ve got a geographical sort of route for the thing to take. It’s basically a journey west. I have a destination in mind, which is always nice to have if you’re setting off on this big journey, which is what writing three eight-hours is. It’s good to know where you’re headed.”
Yes, yes, it is.
Hardy and Knight first worked together on the 2013 film Locke. And then picked up again in 2014, with Hardy taking on the role of Alfie Solomons in Knight's other period project, Peaky Blinders (2013-present).
If it's been a minute since watching the first season of Taboo, which premiered in 2017, here's a look at the trailer:
