Earlier this week, we reported that Margot Robbie received her first Oscar nomination for her performance in I, Tonya. And, she has another dynamic role in the can, which we can look forward to later this year.

Robbie is set to star in the forthcoming "mystery ride" thriller Terminal. Her casting was confirmed last year, but just recently (January 24) the film has been picked up by U.S. production company RJLE films, with a stateside release date planned for spring of this year, reports ComingSoon.net.

So what else do we know about Terminal? The main storyline revolves around two hit-men, who are sent on a dangerous mission for a mysterious employer and a big paycheck. This may sound similar to Suicide Squad — minus the superhuman abilities — but, judging by the film's description, provided by CinemaBlend, there is a twist involving Robbie's character, Annie, and her interaction with the two assassins: "Along the way, the unlikely pair come across a dynamic woman named Annie, that may be more involved than they had originally suspected."

The official synopsis provides some info on how the characters overlap:

"Terminal follows the twisting tales of two assassins carrying out a sinister mission, a teacher battling a fatal illness, an enigmatic janitor and a curious waitress leading a dangerous double life. Murderous consequences unravel in the dead of night as their lives all intertwine at the hands of a mysterious criminal mastermind hell-bent on revenge."

It's not clear if Annie is the teacher, janitor or waitress. Of course, she could be the "mastermind." And from the promo photo below, it seems like she has the look of an assassin, although the short synopsis, seems to eliminate that possibility, stating that the two assassins run into Annie. Hmm.

Her exact role in the movie is underwraps at the moment, but the not knowing is part of the fun.

Robbie will be joined by other familiar faces, including Simon Pegg (M:I  - Mission Impossible), Mike Myers (Bohemian Rhapsody), Max Irons (The White Queen) and Dexter Fletcher (Smoking Guns).

The film is written and directed by Vaughn Stein, who has a long list of credits (The Brothers Grimsby, Dad's Army) as second director, though this is his directorial debut of a feature film.

As well as Terminal, Robbie has completed filming on a number of projects set to release this year, including Peter Rabbit (February 9), Dreamland (TBD) and Mary Queen of Scots (November 2).
