New Trailer: Tim Burton’s ‘Wednesday’ Series Is Topped Up with Familiar Faces

The Addams Family saga continues with a new series that focuses on Wednesday, the eldest child. We can thank director Tim Burton for bringing this quirky family back to the screen. And, speaking of quirky, that seems to be Burton’s niche with cult classics like Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands.
You can look for Jenna Ortega in the title role. You may know Ortega from the second season of You, where she played the very sassy Ellie. In addition to Ortega, there are some all-star Anglo favorites filling out the cast, like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Gwendoline Christie.
Zeta-Jones takes on the role of the formidable Morticia Addams, Wednesday’s mother. Christie will play the not-so-nice principal at Wednesday’s new school. “New school” because she was expelled from her former school for releasing piranhas into the pool during the boys’ water polo practice.
It sounds gruesome, but it’s actually very clever and entertaining, which you can watch in the newly released clip:

We love the line that Wednesday delivers right before dropping the killer fish into the water: “The only person who gets to torture my brother is me.” She may be murderous, but at least she’s loyal.
And who will be portraying the patriarch of this unique family? That would be Luis Guzman (High Town, Shameless). Wednesday’s aforementioned little brother, Pugsley, will be played by Isaac Ordonez.
It seems The Addams Family is ready to make their return.
Are you ready for them?
