You may be across the 2009 miniseries The Unforgiven, written by Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley).
The series is now being adapted into a feature film, renamed The Unforgiveable, reports ComingSoon.net.
The storylines are similar, with some slight differences, as the movie is based on the series vs. a remake.
We can look for Sandra Bullock in the lead role. She portrays a woman who has spent the last 20 years in prison. At first, it’s not clear what landed her there… but as the trailer rolls out, it’s revealed that she shot and killed a police officer.

She’s done her time and now released, she’s in search of her younger sister.
The people who knew her before being incarcerated don’t want anything to do with her.
The people who can help her find her sister also don’t want anything to do with her.
We hear Bullock shouting in the above clip, “Don’t treat me like I don’t exist!! Tell her about me!!”
It seems like she is completely on her own, but she’s not going to give up.
If the original is new to you, here’s a peek at a scene from The Unforgiven:

The Unforgiveable will premiere in select theaters on November 24 and will be available for streaming over at Netflix starting on December 10.
