We are so ready for more of The Flight Attendant. The first season kicked off in 2021 and a second season is revving up for an April 21 return, which sees Kaley Cuoco back in the title role.
Maybe it gets our heart a pumpin’ because we love a good killer thriller, aka Killing Eve.
If you need some catching up, season one revolves around a flight attendant named Cassie. She works hard and plays hard. When she mixes business with pleasure, going out with a passenger, she wakes up next to his dead body the following day.
Throughout the season, she falls victim to ruminating, going over the events in her head, “speaking” to the dead man as if he’s still alive. By the end of the season, we find out who the killer is, and Cassie finds some relief from her inner turmoil. But we were left on a cliffhanger with Cassie being made an unofficial CIA agent, i.e. “They’re not going to give you a gun or anything.”
Now that we’re all caught up, Cassie is back and she’s starting things afresh. In the second season, she’s moved to L.A. and goes to AA meetings regularly. In the newly released trailer, she says, “I’m making better choices.” She’s still working as a flight attendant, but she’s picked up a part-time job, à la gigging for the CIA. She even goes as far to say, “I kind of feel like I’m turning into this whole new person.”
You can decide for yourself if that's true, with the first look trailer below:
We did notice near the end of the clip, she's still talking to herself in her head. But, this time around, she's talking to herself, with Cuoco playing two versions of herself. Sure, maybe she's changed, but just not all of her. This looks like double trouble.
The trailer does provide an eyeful, but it did leave out one crucial element… the conflict. Season one revolved around a murder, but it’s still unknown what the main plot is for season two. It is a trailer, the first look can’t give away all of the good stuff. We do believe in the element of surprise.
You can look for season two of The Flight Attendant over at HBO Max on April 21.
Is this going on your watch list?
