We first saw Israeli actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in director Patty Jenkins' 2017 origin movie. A trailer for the forthcoming sequel was released last year, but then things went a little quiet because of the pandemic.
It seems the sequel, entitled Wonder Woman 1984, is now getting some movement again, as a new trailer has just popped up, ahead of the release date on December 25 in the U.S. and December 16 in the U.K.
In the new clip, Gadot portrays Diana Prince, whose alter ego is Wonder Woman. The storyline has fast-forward to 1984. Let's not forget, Diana's father is Zeus, which makes us think she's inherited the immortality gene... at the least, she will live longer than expected.
As the new clip kicks off, we see Diana and Steve Trevors (Chris Pine) happily strolling in Washington D.C. hand-in-hand. But, things get a little tense from there, like Wonder Woman going up against Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) in the halls of the White House, cargo trucks flipping over and WW grabbing a gun as it's fired, deflecting the bullet with her metal wristband (wowser!!).
You can check out the action-packed trailer below:
The best part, at least to us, is at 00:49 when she lassos a lightning bolt and swings through the sky.
In addition to Gadot, Pine and Wiig, you can also look for Pedro Pascal as baddie Max Lord.
Are you up for more Wonder Woman?
