Chris Pratt is cornering the market on sci-fi/action movies, starring in The Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic Park franchises. And, now he can add a new project to that list, with him taking the lead in The Tomorrow War, reports ComingSoon.net.

He's set to portray a character named Dan Forester, a teacher and family man, who goes up against alien forces. He leads a group of soldiers in the fight, but it's not now, it's thirty years in the future, in an attempt to save all of the tomorrows for their children.

Forester and his team have the ability to time travel and join the future civilization, who are already battling the aliens.

The first look trailer is brief, yet intense. We see Forester and the other troops in combat mode:

In the above trailer, we hear a voice off-screen say, "Our enemy is not human." We don't get a look at the aliens they're fighting, but we are intrigued to see what director Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) comes up with.

We can also look for J.K. Simmons (Invincible), Jasmine Mathews (The Rookie), Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Betty Gilpin (American Gods).

The made-for-streaming movie will be available over at Amazon Prime on July 2.
