We just mentioned Zoe Kazan, who is writing the screenplay for a TV adaptation of East of Eden, set to star Florene Pugh. Now Kazan is set to star opposite Carey Mulligan in the forthcoming feature film She Said, reports ComingSoon.net.
The story revolves around the two journalists – Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor – who outed Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein for sexual misconduct. Kantor and Twohey both worked for The New York Times at the time of their investigation. In 2019, they published a non-fiction book detailing their accounts of what happened, which is the basis of the movie.
The official synopsis helps explain what happened, as a result of their dedication to uncovering Weinstein’s misdoings: “The film follows New York Times reporters Megan Twohey (Mulligan) and Jodi Kantor (Kazan) as they broke together one of the most important stories in a generation— a story that helped propel the #Metoo movement, shattered decades of silence around the subject of sexual assault in Hollywood and altered American culture forever.”
