It’s not so often that a Welsh production pops up, so when it does, we embrace the opportunity for some armchair travel.
Michael Smiley, who you may know from Luther, is set to star in the forthcoming feature film Tollbooth, reports ComingSoon.net.
As the title suggests, his character works in a tollbooth. It takes a certain kind of person to man a tollbooth, as it’s a very isolating job. And we can imagine it entails long hours, which make for long days.
We’re not wrong, as the logline confirms the above, reading: "Tollbooth centers on Brendan, who works solo shifts in the quietest toll booth in Wales, hiding from a criminal past where nobody would ever look. When he finally gets rumbled, word of his whereabouts gets out and his enemies head west for revenge. Meanwhile, local traffic cop Catrin’s investigation into a simple robbery finds her heading for the booth at exactly the wrong time."
Whoa, there seems to be three storylines going on at once, which promises to keep viewers on their toes.
In the recently released trailer, Brendan talks about his vocation, saying, “You might think I’m in the middle of nowhere out here. But really, I’m in the middle of everything.”
He’s absolutely right, he’s in the middle of a crime spree, as seen in the below clip:

If you think you spotted Iwan Rhoen from Game of Thrones and Misfits, you were right. He plays a character named Dom, who acts as an aid to Brendan.
Tollbooth is set to come out on March 18.
While a crime thriller, this flick is peppered with humor.
