Martin Freeman Set to Return for 'Breeders' Season Three

We love Martin Freeman in the Anglo favorite series Sherlock. But, since taking a break from co-sleuthing, he's turned to the family dramedy Breeders. Two seasons have already run, with a third just confirmed, according to Variety.
The story revolves around a British married couple, played by Freeman and Daisy Haggard, who are parents to two young children. The title alone hints at their parenting style, as breeding is quite... clinical.
Of course the parents, Paul and Ally, love their children, but are quick to lose their tempers. The series focuses on just that, that there is no perfect way to parent and the adults in the situation struggle to keep a grip.
Freeman co-created the series with Chris Addison and Simon Blackwell. Blackwell, who also acts as showrunner, released a statement about getting the green light for a third season, saying, "Delighted that we’ve got three seasons. One more and it’s a pizza."
Side note: Oooh, pizza. Who doesn't love pizza!? But, sticking to the topic at hand...
Blackwell points out what exactly he's looking forward to, saying, "This is such a superb team to work with, and it’s a pleasure and a privilege to make the show. I can’t wait to see what terrible and brilliant but let’s face it mainly terrible things will happen to the Worsley family in the next 10 episodes."
Yikes, terrible sounds just... terrible. But, with this being a comedy, we'll take it with a grain of salt — hopefully nothing too dire happens.
The series airs on FX, with Nick Grad, President of Original Programming, embracing its return, saying, "Through two seasons, we’ve watched Paul, Ally and their children grow as a family in ways that are reassuring and sometimes concerning."
We like how he points out that the parents are growing, as well. And, it's true, they seem to learn from their mistakes as the seasons roll out.
Grad puts a spotlight on the actors and creators, saying, "Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard are brilliant as the flawed but devoted parents and we are glad that they, along with Simon Blackwell, Chris Addison, and the rest of the creative team and cast, are bringing the series back for a third season that will take us along for the next stage in this family’s journey."
We can look for the third season to premiere in 2022.
Have you been enjoying the first two seasons of Breeders? Are you up for a season three!?
