Are you ready for a return visit to Little Britain? Because the show's co-creator David Walliams says it's "definitely" coming back.

Walliams and co-creator Matt Lucas reunited last fall for a one-off radio special, Little Brexit, and now they're planning to revive their classic characters again.

"I would say there will definitely be some more Little Britain coming," Walliams told The Sun. "I can’t say when exactly but at the right time and place. It was fun coming back for radio because that’s where we started."

"We had to put it together quite quickly as it was about Brexit," he added. "Plus no one expected us to come back on the radio. You would have expected Comic Relief or a big live tour. The reaction was great, which was encouraging."

Walliams and Lucas launched Little Britain as a radio sketch show in 2000 before developing it into an enormously successful TV series which aired in the U.S. on BBC America. Since the show ended 12 years ago, Walliams and Lucas have been criticized for their depictions of people of color, LGBTQ characters, and other minority groups.

“If I could go back and do Little Britain again, I wouldn’t make those jokes about transvestites,” Lucas said in 2017. “I wouldn’t play black characters. Basically, I wouldn’t make that show now. It would upset people. We made a more cruel kind of comedy than I’d do now."

Walliams echoed these sentiments in his new interview, saying: "You’d definitely do it differently because it’s a different time. There’s all kinds of tolerances that change."

It's been rumored that Walliams and Lucas are actually planning to launch their Little Britain comeback at the U.K.'s National Television Awards next Tuesday (January 28) but this hasn't been confirmed by either actor. Until then: watch this space.
