Richard Armitage (The Hobbit, North & South) can now add writer to his CV. He has written an audio book, entitled Geneva, available over at Audible. He also acts out the narrative, opposite Nicola Walker.
If that weren’t enough to pique your interest, the book comes with a trailer:

The story revolves around Sarah (Walker), a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, and her husband, Daniel (Armitage), a neuroscientist. Sarah is suffering from what appears to be early-onset Alzheimer’s. In spite of her condition, the couple travel to Switzerland for a biotech conference.
According to the description, there they learn about “technology that could change medicine forever. More than that, it could save Sarah’s life. But technology so valuable attracts all kinds of interest.
The above clip is a one-off, as there's currently not a series of mini episodes for each chapter. But there’s talk of the audiobook being adapted for TV.
In an interview with Radio Times, Armitage talked about having gone to Geneva for research, saying, “It was really exciting to stumble on things that I'm like, 'oh, that can be the cabin in the woods!'. And I found the location of where the Schiller Institute would be and so I did a bit of a location recce for myself, so when I come to make the TV show I'll know exactly where to go."
It's in the early stages and he’s still enjoying the excitement of the book and would like to share the story with others: “I mean as soon as I can get this under the nose of some people in high places, I will certainly sort of start gifting it to them for Christmas, like 'here’s my audiobook, happy Christmas!'."
Sounds like a plan to us. What about you?
