Line of Duty star Martin Compston is dusting off his passport for a new BBC documentary series.
The actor will travel from Las Vegas, Nevada, where he lives with his wife and son, to his native Scotland for a series that has the working title Martin Compston's Scottish Fling.
According to a BBC press release, Compston will be joined by his friend Phil MacHugh for "an immersive and personal journey" showcasing "what makes modern Scotland tick." The series will comprise six 30-minute episodes spotlighting Scotland's "thriving cities" as well as its "stunning wild landscapes."
"I've traveled all over the country for work and leisure - but this is the first time I'll be meeting real modern Scots on camera, sharing their thoughts and passions. We're excited to get stuck in, and to experience the best that Scotland has to offer in the 21st century," Compston said in a statement.
Though he now lives in Las Vegas, Compton was born and raised in the Scottish town of Greenock. One of his first TV roles came from 2003-2005 in Monarch of the Glen, a BBC drama series set in the mountainous Scottish Highlands region. More recently, he starred in the Scottish-set 2020 miniseries The Nest, which is available on Acorn TV.
