Orphan Black arrived to BBC America in 2013. The viewers weren’t only instantly drawn in but also loyal, resulting in the #CloneClub. And, here we are, about to get even more Orphan Black with a spinoff series entitled Orphan Black: Echoes.
AMC announced the spinoff in April and has recently begun casting with Krysten Ritter set to star.
Echoes is a part of the OB universe but will follow different characters and a new storyline. According to the official description, the forthcoming series will take “a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence.”
The description goes on to read: “It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.”
We also learn more about Ritter’s role. She’s set to play a woman named Lucy who has an “unimaginable origin story.” According to the synopsis, Lucy is trying to find her place in the world.
Orphan Black came to an end in 2017. Tatiana Maslany took the lead – actually, to be more exact, leads – in the original series and you can look for her in the forthcoming She-Hulk.
There’s no word on a premiere date, but we are one step closer.
Are you excited for more Orphan Black!?
