We first saw Taron Egerton as street kid-turned-spy in 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, opposite Colin Firth as his mentor. They both returned for the 2017 sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
We can look for The King’s Man later this month (December 22), which is a prequel movie starring Ralph Fiennes. And, it’s sans Egerton and Firth.
The King’s Man is the third movie in the franchise, but the next film in the works is being referred to as Kingsman 3, reports ComingSoon.net.
It’s becoming one of those franchises where it’s hard to keep track of the timeline and amount of movies, but according to Vaughn, he predicts Kinsman 3 will "wrap up" Egerton’s storyline, reports ComicBook.com.
With that said, we do know that the next film will be directed by Matthew Vaughn and filming is set to start in September 2022. And Egerton is set to reprise his role as Gary “Eggsy” Uwin.
It’s been close to ten years since Egerton first took on this role, which allows time for the character to grow and evolve on-screen.
The storyline has yet to be released, but we look forward to seeing where Eggsy has landed.
In the meantime, Egerton returns for Sing 2 (December 22), providing the voice of Johnny:
