Keira Knightley's next film will be about a beauty pageant, but don't expect a movie like Drop Dead Gorgeous or Little Miss Sunshine.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Colette star will take a role in Misbehaviour, a comedy drama telling the real-life story of the 1970 Miss World competition in London. The event became famous when the newly formed Women's Liberation Movement invaded the stage, surprising host Bob Hope and claiming that beauty shows demeaned women in front of 100 million viewers on TV. When the show resumed, there was further controversy when Miss Grenada became the first black woman to win the crown.

We don't know Keira's exact role yet, but we do know she'll be joined by Doctor Who's Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Taboo's Jessie Buckley.

And with a subject such as this, it's no surprise that it's an all-female affair behind the scenes as well as on screen. It's being produced by Suzanne Mackie (The Crown, Calendar Girls) and Sarah-Jane Wheale, while BAFTA-winning director Philippa Lowthorpe (Three Girls) will call the shots, working from a script by Rebecca Frayn and Gaby Chiappe.
