Hugh Jackman Was Offered the Role of James Bond... and He Said No

We’ve heard of people being considered for James Bond and the opportunity falling through, but this is a new one. Hugh Jackman had a catch-up with IndieWire, where he talks about being offered the role pre-Daniel Craig, but it wasn’t a good fit.
In the interview, he says, “I was like, ‘If I’m doing that and Wolverine, I’ll have no time to do anything else. I clearly find it more interesting to play people who color outside the lines.”
Bond definitely breaks the rules and has a license to kill – which he pulls out of his back pocket at times – but, we suppose he’s referring to the bigger picture.
Jackman went on to explain his thought process in hopes of avoiding being pigeonholed, saying, “It was all various forms of heroic guys in tough situations. I was like, ‘Uh, no. This is a problem.’”
With Wolverine being a reluctant hero, we see what he means by that. Since then, he’s taken on projects like The Son, where he plays an absentee father who steps up to the plate, and tries to help his troubled son.
If this is new to you, here’s a peek at the trailer:

The Son is currently in theaters in NYC and L.A. It will receive a nationwide release on January 20.
Do you agree with Jackman's reasoning on this?
