So far, the new Bond movie hasn't had the smoothest route to screen: original director Danny Boyle dropped out in August 2018 due to "creative differences," and the film's release date has been pushed back several times.

However, today brings what sounds like great news for 007 aficionados. Production Weekly, an authority on film and TV production schedules, reports that director Cary Fukunaga will start shooting the movie April 6 at the U.K.'s famous Pinewood Studios.

The cast and crew of Bond 25 – which has the working title Shatterhand, according to Production Weekly – will then move on to a second shooting location in Matera, Italy.

Just as excitingly, the Daily Mail is reporting that Fukunaga and longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli are "wooing" Lupita Nyong'o, the Oscar-winning star of 12 Years a Slave, for a key role in the film. It's been rumored previously that Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek is being tapped to play the film's main antagonist.

We do know for certain, of course, that Daniel Craig will be returning for one last outing as Bond, joined by Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Ralph Fiennes as M, plus Léa Seydoux, who’s reprising her role as psychologist Madeleine Swann from 2015's Spectre.

Bond 25 / Shatterhand is now set for release on April 8, 2020.
